Help! I Can't Log In!
(or stay logged in)
The NFDA log in system sets a temporary 'Session cookie' to assure that you and only you are creating/editing information in your name. Your web browser must be able to accept this session cookie for you to log in and work with your account. If not you will log in and immediately get tossed back to the log in page... There are a few things you may need to check or adjust to help you 'GET IN".
Three variables to check...
-
Adjust your browser to 'accept cookies' by either turning them on OR adjusting your 'privacy' slider (see details below)
-
In the 'per site privacy action' settings (in your web browser's internet options / privacy tab - click the 'edit button') you may have to add "nfda.org"
-
A third tip is to 'delete cookies' to clear things up.
IMPORTANT: If you discover any other variables that help you to log in do let us know so we can add it here.
Adjusting YOUR Web browser to accept cookies.
Overview: Your browser needs to be set to accept cookies, which are small text files that store bits of data. Please try the following:
If you are using Internet Explorer or Netscape browsers, get instructions on how to accept cookies. For any other type of browser, click "Help" on your browser's menu bar to find out how to change this setting.
If your browser is set to accept cookies and you are still being returned to the login page, you may need to delete old cookies from your computer. This will allow you to accept new cookies. You can also try shutting down your browser and then launching it again. If your browser is old, you may need to upgrade to a newer browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape.
If you continue to have problems, please contact your internet service provider and ask them to help you configure your browser/connection properly. Even if you have your browser configured to accept cookies, you may be behind a proxy or a caching system which is preventing you from using cookies.
